Welcome back Pirates! To you students out there that don’t know what they want to major in, feel as if they cannot find a club to join, or just feel like an outcast, come check out the Agricultural Department! We have what you need, a safe friendly environment that will make you feel like home.
The majors that we have here will help you see the world in a different perceptive. Starting from communications to welding we have what you can find your passion in. Our Agricultural department is over 93 years old and is still thriving today! With 30 different majors offered, there is always excitement in the air and new things to do. The teachers at the Ag department are not only your teachers but your advisors; unlike many teachers you will meet at MJC you will notice that these teachers have heart, passion, and knowledge not only with the subject that they are teaching but with the world around them to better the lives of students for their futures. The values here are very diverse, open and caring there is no judgment of who you are or what you are. It’s a place that many students like to call home because of that reason of feeling like themselves.
The Agricultural Department has an organization known as Young Farmers. Young Farmers is just like what most people know FFA; the difference is that this is for college kids instead of high school teens. It’s great transition for incoming freshman that are Ag majors. Apart of the Young Farmers there is also a group known as the Agricultural Ambassadors, they are known for helping the Ag Department in events. As well as leading younger kids to know what agricultural is. The Ag department is located at the east campus and the new Ag building is at the west campus so if you’re ever in the area come check us out!
