The MJC Job Fair brought almost thirty six business that were looking to meet students interested in job opportunities. These business included: Best Buy, California Department Fish and Wildlife, Diamond Food Inc, Dodge Ridge, Mercer Foods, CVS Pharmacy Distribution Center to name a few.
“I was pleasantly surprised of the student turnout” noted Audra of Health Plan of San Joaquin. Other vendors were also happy with the amount of student traffic flow in the Student Center on East Campus.
“Lots of people stopped to ask questions, drop by and see what our business is regardless of what their major was” Said Kathy Martinez of Novo Consultants INC. “Some students came prepared and dressed for the part, lots of students stopped and asked for more information, lots of action at our booth”
At this job fair students were encouraged to bring resumes and fill out applications at the tables. Some came dressed for immediate hire while many were perusing the wide variety of different business being represented. The event was run and organized by the MJC Career Development & Transfer Center. The Transfer Center is located on East Campus in the Student Center.
