MJC 29 San Francisco 66

MJC dropped their second straight as they lose to San Francisco City College (4-1) 66-25. Modesto kept with San Francisco in the first quarter leading 8-7. SF then came back and scored 28 points in the second quarter to lead 35-15. SF never looked back scoring another 31 points in the second half to win. SF running back Jahray Hayes totaled 150 rushing yards with five touchdowns.
SF stopped Anthony Cota from running wild, limiting him to only 21 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries. He also caught a six yard pass for a touchdown. Cota has rushed for 553 yards in the past three games. Embry Allen Jr. played the majority of the game at quarterback throwing for 135 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. MJC totaled four turnovers and SF fumbled the ball away six times. Adrian Laurel led the Pirates defense with eight tackles with three for a loss.
MJC will have a bye week this week to regroup before taking on Sequoias (1-3) on October 18th at Sequoias. Sequoias is in the same league as Modesto in the National Valley.

MJC ties with Santa Rosa (6-3-1) 2-2 in a tough battle. Jenna Viss recorded a goal and an assist in the tie. Santa Rosa scored twice in the second half with a free and a shot from 40 feet out, both by Natalia Picano. The pirates are now 10-0-1. MJC will play at Cosumnes River (4-3-4) on October 7th at 3:30PM.

MJC falls to Cosumnes River (4-5-1) 3-4. Bruce Ocana, Martin Castorena, and Andres Garcia all scored for the Pirates in the loss. The Pirates are now 4-3-2 and have lost their second straight game. MJC will play Fresno (6-5-1) on October 7th at MJC 4:00PM.

MJC is defeated by Big 8 rival Sierra (4-7) 3-1. The Pirates lost the first two sets 23-25 and 25-21, before winning the third 24-26. They lost the fourth set 25-23 to end the match. MJC is now 9-4 on the year and ranked 23rd in California. Sierra Miller leads the team in kills with 161. MJC's next game is at home against American River on October 8th at 6:30PM.
