When MJC Fall semester started on August 25th, twenty eight club representatives put up display tables to advertise their clubs to the thousands of students walking across MJC’s East Campus. The event, organized by ASMJC Vice President of Activities Kyle Brown, featured free food for students funded by ASMJC. Club Rush is an opportunity for MJC’s Clubs to gain new members as thousands of students start the new year. Club Rush lasts four days with the 25th and 26th on MJC’s East campus and 27th and 28th at West Campus.
College Republican Vice President Grant Hurst has spent significant time at his booth and is seeing the benefit:
“Club Rush this year has actually been very good for the most part, defiantly a lot more people out here. We do not have to wait for the third or fourth week of classes which means we have a much more captive audience. So far this club rush, we have had almost 50 signatures over the first two days, which is a lot more then we have gotten in the last year or two”
With two days of Club Rush completed, more students have been informed about MJC’s club activities. For a complete list of Clubs go to asmjc.weebly.com/clubs.
